E.e.a. zal wel loslopen maar mocht je GPS er mee nokken;

SCOPE:
On April 6th, 2019, the GPS week will reach the 1024 bit limit and reset to 0. Global Positioning System (GPS) signals provide accurate timing information, including the date. The timing information includes the ability to transmit the current week and the current number of seconds into the week. GPS receivers can then translate the date and time into a more common format; time of day, day, month, and year. The week number is represented by a 10-bit binary number. This limits the range of the week number to a value ranging from 0 to 1024.

Aangezien dit al de tweede keer is dat dit gebeurd heeft elke GPS ontvanger hier allang oplossingen voor.
Verhaal klopt, risico is zeer klein zeker voor toestellen van de laatste 15? jaar.
